In the hotel ratings published by the Swiss newspaper SonntagsZeitung on 29 May 2011 the Hotel Eden Roc moved up from second to first place, being designated "Switzerland's best holiday hotel". The SonntagsZeitung author reserved the highest praise for the newly opened, trendy Eden Roc Marina and the excellent water sports facilities as well as the ideal lakeside location.

The "Große Restaurant & Hotel Guide" features a representative cross-section of the best cuisine and hotel culture in the heart of Europe. Every year it very carefully selects the best hotels, restaurants and concepts in various categories. In its 2011 edition, the Bertelsmann Guide names the Hotel Eden Roc as Switzerland's Hotel of the Year 2011.

Class, Lifestyle Magazin
In its September 2010 issue Class, the Italian lifestyle magazine, ranked the Eden Roc Spa as the 9th best spa in the world. The magazine also rated the Restaurant La Brezza as the No. 2 best restaurant in the Ticino. Two awards which we are of course delighted about.

SWISS COCKTAIL CHAMPIONSHIPS 2010
The Swiss Cocktail Championships organised by the Swiss Barkeeper Union were held in Lucerne on Sunday, 12 September 2010. More than 40 professional barkeepers from all over Switzerland met up to compete in this major event. After an exciting competition Maurizio Cassaro, Chef de Bar at the Hotel Eden Roc in Ascona, was named new Swiss champion in the category Pre-dinner Cocktails. He will represent Switzerland at the 2011 World Championships in Poland.

GaultMillau "HOTEL OF THE YEAR 2010"
On 30 August 2010 the Hotel Eden Roc was awarded one of the most prestigious titles in the Swiss hotel industry: indeed, the 5-star hotel is the GaultMillau's Hotel of the Year 2010. According to the illustrious restaurant guide the location on Lake Maggiore is "enchanting". It added that three ambitious chefs were hard at work delighting their guests at the Hotel's four restaurants, garnering a combined total of 44 GaultMillau points. The new Spa designed by Carlo Rampazzi also received praise from the GaultMillau.

Bilanz-Award
In the 2010 hotel ranking published by the Swiss business magazine Bilanz on 2 July 2010, the Hotel Eden Roc made good no fewer than seven places, and now ranks 4th among the 25 best holiday hotels in Switzerland. Author Claus Schweitzer praised "the spectacular lakeside setting on Lake Maggiore, the four restaurants, and the new spa complex which was added in the spring".

Restaurant Eden Roc – THE RISING STAR IN THE 2010 GAULTMILLAU NOW WITH 15 POINTS
Praise indeed from the GaultMillau for the team at the Restaurant Eden Roc run by head chef Cyrille Kamerzin and Maître Sergio Bassi: The fine dining restaurant has been awarded 15 points in the 2010 edition of the gourmet guide, published at the beginning of October. In the words of the GaultMillau, "Kamerzin has been proving for a number of years now just how wonderful classic cuisine can be". The two other restaurants at the Eden Roc, La Casetta and La Brezza, successfully maintained their ratings of 13 and 16 points respectively. This means the 5-star hotel now boasts the finest of culinary traditions with a combined total of 44 GaultMillau points.

Eden Roc Chef de Bar Maurizio Cassaro: Barkeeper of the Year
Maurizio Cassaro, Chef de Bar at the Hotel Eden Roc, was the winner of the Swiss Bar Awards 2009 with his very own creation: Eden Passion. The Sicilian-born head barman, 36, is now officially Barkeeper of the Year 2009.
